Matt Hackman
Matt holds a BFA degree in Dance from the University of Minnesota and has been dancing since the age of six. Growing up in the competition circuit, he trained under the Larkin Dance Studio and St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists.
Matt was also a member of the prestigious Minnesota Dance Theatre. Performing in several historic theaters and touring nationally, he has had the privilege to work with acclaimed choreographers: Jennifer Backhaus, Louis Falco, Carl Flink, Wynn Fricke, Loyce Houlton, Lise Houlton, Dwight Roden, Glen Tetley, Nathan Trice and Shapiro & Smith Dance.
Currently, Matt continues to perform professionally with Crash Dance Productions. As a founding member of the company he helps choreograph for the Minnesota based contemporary dance company.
When not on stage, Matt teaches the next generation of dancers at Dance Arts Centre in Chanhassen, MN. He is best recognized for his exciting and unique choreography, winning numerous choreography and top honor awards. As an educator his teaching philosophy is based in disciplined technique and movement aesthetic. Hoping to inspire every student, Matt trains in a wide range of styles including ballet, jazz, contemporary and musical theater. He takes pride in creating versatile, intelligent and successful dancers.
